Important DatesOctober 5-7, 2007 -- DADS WEEKENDOctober 12, 2007 -- Deadline to elect credit/no-credit for a semester course Mass E-mail from UI Police DepartmentOn September 18, 2007 the University of Illinois Police Department sent a Mass E-mail to all students regarding campus safety.Division of Housing Tip for ParentsEvery year the Undergraduate Hall Desks process thousands and thousands of pieces of mail and packages coming from all over the world to residents. Because the desks are apart of the US Postal Service, the staff is required to abide by federal regulations regarding the processing and delivery of the mail everyday. This means that every piece of mail and every package must list the student/resident's full name and address. Often times mail will come to the hall with the parent's name but their student's address. In this case, the staff members must send the packages back to the sender.Off-Campus Students Welcome for Home-Cooked Meals in Dining HallsParents can provide nutritious, home-cooked meals for their sons and daughters even when they live off-campus. University Housing meal plans allow students to eat in any dining hall on campus, and the all-you-care-to-eat meals, full of student favorites, are a great way to stay connected to campus and have a hot, homemade meal.Parents can direct their students to the Housing Information Office, 100 Clark Hall, to fill out a meal plan contract (will be billed to student's ebill). Meal plans start at 6 meals per week or more, and can begin any week of the semester. (http://www.housing.uiuc.edu/dining/plans.htm) Parents can also add Extra Credits directly to their student's i-card account. These credits can be used to purchase both traditional meals and items in a la carte locations, and they never expire. Parents need their student's UIN, but no password is required. (http://www.housing.uiuc.edu/NCMP/default.aspx) CITES Announces NetID Password ManagerCampus Information Technologies and Education Services is introducing a new Web-based tool that allows users to change or reset their NetID passwords and to set security questions that provide an alternate authentication method if a user forgets his/her NetID password.Wii and Other Fun Fitness Activities - What's New at SportWellStudents can play Nintendo Wii for free and get their work-out in while having fun.
